Cloud Consulting & Infrastructure Strategy

Independent cloud strategy, architecture and migration guidance grounded in what actually runs well in production.

We help engineering leaders decide what belongs in the cloud, how it should be architected, and how to get there without stalling delivery. Our consultants work across AWS, Azure and Google Cloud, so our recommendations are driven by your workloads and constraints rather than a single vendor relationship. That includes the parts most vendors skip: cost modelling, data residency, and the operating model your team will actually run day to day.

Cloud strategy that maps to business outcomes

A cloud program fails when it is framed as a technology project rather than a set of measurable outcomes. We start by clarifying what you are optimising for, whether that is cost predictability, faster release cadence, resilience, or exiting a data centre. From there we produce a target architecture and a sequenced roadmap that your team can execute against.

  • Cloud suitability and workload placement assessment
  • Total cost of ownership and unit-economics modelling
  • Multi-cloud and hybrid strategy where it genuinely reduces risk
  • Reference architectures and non-functional requirements

Migration without the big-bang risk

Most migrations do not fail on the lift, they fail on the assumptions. We assess each workload for the right disposition, rehost, replatform, refactor or retire, and prioritise by risk and value rather than convenience. Waves are sized so that a rollback is always realistic and delivery never grinds to a halt.

  • Application and dependency discovery
  • Landing zone and network foundation design
  • Data migration and cutover planning
  • Decommissioning and licence rationalisation

Data residency and sovereignty for Australian workloads

For enterprise and government workloads, where data lives and who can access it is often the deciding constraint. We design architectures that keep regulated data in Australian regions, document data flows for assurance, and align controls to the Essential Eight and ISM where they apply. This keeps procurement and security teams comfortable without over-engineering.

  • Australian region and availability-zone design
  • Data classification and residency controls
  • Alignment to Essential Eight and ISM controls
  • Encryption, key management and access governance

An operating model your team can sustain

Good architecture is wasted if the team cannot run it. We help you establish the governance, cost controls and platform practices that keep the environment healthy after we leave. The goal is capability transfer, not a dependency on us.

Frequently asked questions

Are you tied to a particular cloud provider?
No. We work across AWS, Azure and Google Cloud and hold no reseller incentive to push one. Our recommendation is driven by your workloads, existing skills, commercial agreements and residency requirements, and we are happy to tell you when your current platform is already the right choice.
Can you help us reduce cloud spend that has crept up over time?
Yes. Cost overruns usually come from over-provisioned resources, unused commitments, orphaned storage and chatty architectures. We run a cost assessment, quantify the savings by category, and give you a prioritised list of changes ranked by effort against saving so you can act on the high-value items first.
How do you handle data residency and sovereignty requirements?
We design workloads to keep regulated and personal data in Australian cloud regions, document the data flows for your assurance teams, and align controls to the Essential Eight and the ISM where relevant. For government workloads we factor in certified regions and IRAP-assessed services from the outset.
